What is FreshShare?

Fresh, Georgia-grown food, shared across Southwest Georgia

FreshShare connects local farmers, youth growers, and community organizations to share fresh, Georgia-grown food across Southwest Georgia. Each season, our network harvests, packs, and delivers produce through partner-led distributions that are dignified, local, and sustainable. FreshShare is built to keep food, funding, and leadership rooted in the community, so families are supported, farmers have steady markets, and youth gain meaningful work and skills.

How it works

From the field to the family

  • Step 1: Grow & Gather

Produce Partners harvest fresh, seasonal produce from farms, gardens, and youth plots.

  • Step 2: Pack & Coordinate

Flint River Fresh and youth crews coordinate logistics, packing, and scheduling with partner sites.

  • Step 3: Share Through Partners

Community Partners host pick-ups, distributions, fundraisers, and wellness events, providing a way to get food directly to families and neighbors.

FreshShare boxes are not sold individually. They are distributed through partner sites as part of community-led programs.

Community Partners

Community Partners are the heart of FreshShare. These are the schools, churches, nonprofits, clinics, and workplaces that host distributions and help families access fresh food where they are.

As a Community Partner, your group can:

  • Host produce pick-ups or community distributions
  • Sponsor boxes for families or run a fundraiser
  • Support wellness programming and nutrition education
  • Use Seasonal Garden Kits to help families grow food at home
  • Strengthen your local response during economic disruptions

Produce Partners

Produce Partners are the backbone of FreshShare: local farmers and growers who supply the abundance that keeps families fed and communities strong.

By partnering with FreshShare, growers can:

  • Access steady, mission-aligned markets through partner demand
  • Keep more value local by reducing reliance on distant or unstable markets
  • Support youth workforce development and local food access at the same time
