Urban Farming & Gardening Workshop Series at the MercyMed Farm

About Gardening Series at MercyMed Farm

We are very excited that Fredando Jackson will teach an Urban Farming and Gardening Series on the MercyMed Farm in Columbus! 

Workshops will take place at The MercyMed Farm (3820 2nd Ave. – corner of 2nd Ave. and 38th St.) in Columbus, GA on the second Saturday of the month. They will begin at 1pm and last 1 hour. It will be followed with hands-on activities on the farm such as planting, weeding, etc.

Meet-Up for School Garden Blitz Activities at Lamar Reese Elementary at 1pm. Each stop includes 30 minutes of hands-on gardening in raised garden beds. Time schedule allows 15 minutes of travel and prep time after each school garden visit.

VOLUNTEER MEALS will be served at the Hope Center (925 Pine Ave, Albany, 31701) immediately after garden activities.

Activities are held partially outside, weather permitting. Come ready to get dirty and build some raised garden beds.

This workshop Covers the benefits of raised bed gardening, which crops grow best in raised beds, and how to maximize the growing space for an abundant harvest. Also, We’ll discuss Options for building materials and sMART Irrigation.
